THE PROBLEM

The SHSAT and how it works

The SHSAT, New York City's standardized test used for entry into NYC's specialized high schools, is an almost comically unbalanced test.

The SHSAT systemically discriminates against students who can't afford test preparation.

Private test tutoring, which can often total up to $5000, leaves a measurable disparity in students who are accepted to specialized high schools.

OUR MISSION

Our mission at Students for a Stellar Future is to bring sound, high-quality SHSAT preparation programs entirely free of charge to communities and individuals who need it. We want to ensure that no capable and willing student is overlooked by the system because they may not have the resources of other students. We want to give every student a chance.
